• When or if I started shipping it: Since day one, man
• My thoughts: She knows that he makes her happy. Problem is, she doesn’t realize quite how happy he could make her. And she was afraid to find out because she knew that she would fuck it up. He always knew what to do, what to say, and she’s always been the exact opposite. She doesn’t trust her heart enough to take action to follow it, and she doesn’t know how to talk to people. She get defensive even when it’s not necessary, and ends up digging herself into a hole. If she had been able to get over herself, then things could have worked for them. But now she’s just going to end up pouring her heart out to Lu, and he’ll pick up the pieces because that’s just the kind of guy that he is. And she’ll hang on to him tight and not want to let go. But no matter what, she’ll still have those feelings for Ed sitting there and festering to some extent. She’ll try to throw herself into things with Lu to forget about Ed and it might work, might not.
• What makes me happy about them: The fact that they are both complete dorks and how much they mean to each other
• What makes me sad about them: The fact that Anna walked away
• Things done in fanfic that annoys me: That there are two ficlets in existence and they’re both angsty. :|

• Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: If she’s not going to be with Ed, than Anna should be with Lu. (orwithsamshutupimacrackybitch) But I can almost guarantee that I will sob like a fool if Ed ends up in any sort of committed relationship with anyone but Anna.
• My happily ever after for them: Anna and Lu being together for a while, and then Sam and Lu getting close, and Lu developing feelings for Sam. But by the time he figures this out, he’s long since realized that Anna’s in love with Ed, and so he very gently lets her down and subtly suggests going after Ed. And then Ed hears from Lu that they’re not together anymore, and he tells him that “It’s not fair to carry on in a relationship with someone when you’ve got feelings for someone else,” with Ed thinking he’s referring to his feelings for Sam, but then Lu’s like “yeah but no, bro, she’s in love with you. And she would totes go after you, but she’s got it into her head that you hate her and that it doesn’t matter anymore” and for Ed to be all “lulz I still love her. Whoops.” And so Lu then convinces Anna to just go for it, without actually telling her straight up that Ed’s still into her. And then OH LOOK SUDDENLY RAIN and for some reason they run into each other or something and blah blah argument followed by her -whoops- confessing her love from a couple feet away, completely soaked. And then him not really saying anything because there isn’t anything to say, not since he made it clear that he was done waiting for her, and that it was up to her. Not since she walked away from him. But she’s done pining after him. She’s done waiting for life to happen to her. So she rushes forward and oh look, kissy tiem. In ze rain. AND THEN MONTAGE: happy times with friends, sexy tiems, holidays, graduation, moving in together, proposal and teary eyed, overjoyed acceptance, and marriage and HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

• what is their favorite non-sexual activity: General dorkery? Honestly, Anna’s just happy when Ed’s near her, and Ed’s happy when he can make her smile, or make her laugh. Oh, and laser tag.

Sometimes after a long day of classes and then a crappy night at work, no matter how tired she feels, Anna just can’t fall asleep. No matter how hard she tries, she just can’t fall asleep. Some of these nights though just so happen to be nights that Ed’s on air. So if the timing’s right and it’s the right night, Anna will turn on the radio - quiet enough that she can hear it without waking up her room mate.

She doesn’t really believe in ghosts or monsters or any of that, but sometimes, the way Ed talks about it all makes her wish that she did. She wishes she could share that with him. Wishes she could see him throw himself into the topic, and see his eyes light up and see him get lost in it. With most people, she silently judges them for believing that kind of stuff, but with him she doesn’t seem to mind. Hell, she actually likes it about him.

Beyond that… she likes being able to hear his voice. He’s always had a knack for cheering her up if her day’s been shit. And it’s never really been what he says, but more the fact that he’s there. So when she can’t have him there with her in person… well, she enjoys being able to lie in bed at night and hear his voice. It calms her down, makes her feel all safe and warm, to the point where she’ll find herself drifting off. And she has fallen asleep during his segment from time to time, but generally, she finds herself fighting to stay awake till the end because she finds that she doesn’t want to miss any of it.

Of course, she’d never tell him this. She’s afraid that he’d find it weird - maybe even creepy. Or maybe he’d get smug. Or he’d find her immature for doing it. She’s already self-conscious about the fact that she’s younger than everyone she knows at the University, so she wouldn’t need that adding to it. She knows that they’re all irrational fears but… she’d still rather keep it to herself.

Just her, in the dark, alone. With only Ed’s voice to keep her company.
